The MSCSICPFC/REF5 is a three-phase Vienna PFC reference design for hybrid electric vehicle (HEV)/electric vehicle (EV) charger and high power switch mode power supply applications. This reference design achieves 98.5 % efficiency at 20 kW output power and is capable of operation to 30 kW.

Key features of this three-phase Vienna rectifier reference design:

  • Initial operation at 20 kW and designed for 30 kW applications
  • Microsemi’s next generation SiC diodes and SiC MOSFETs with high avalanche/repetitive unclamped inductive switching (UIS)
  • Three-phase, 380/400 V RMS, 50Hz or 60 Hz input voltage
  • 140 kHz switching frequency
  • 780 V DC output voltage
  • PCB layout with consideration for safety, current stress, mechanical stress, and noise immunity
  • Open source software for digital control
  • Maximum ambient temperature at 60 °C
