Software reference designs are implementations of the proprietary LS model, for specific applications, where the design is not built into hardware. These are great “starter designs” to give RF Power Amplifier designers a quick, accurate first look at a device’s potential for that application.

Software reference designs are available for free and vary in their degree of completeness. For example, a starter design can be simple and only use “ideal components” for capacitors and resistors. Other starter designs bound the design to specific available capacitor values and tolerances from their manufacturers.
