In Series Adapter

An In Series Adapter is a passive RF 2-port interconnect device, which provides a convenient gender conversion or extension within the same connector series at each end. Gender conversions (i.e., male-female) are also referred to as plug-jack adapters. Gender extensions (e.g., male-male, female-female) are also known as plug-plug or jack-jack adapters. In Series Adapters are used primarily for RF Test & Measurement applications, either in the factory or in the laboratory. They can also be used in the field in a variety of communication systems applications (e.g., connecting two shorter cables together to make one longer cable). These adapters come in Straight, Right-Angle, and Bulkhead/Panel Mount form factors.
