RF Coaxial Cable Mount Connector
An RF Coaxial Cable Mount Connector is a very durable, 2-port RF interconnect device which provides convenient and quick RF signal connect and disconnect capabilities to either one or both ends of an RF coaxial cable. One of the primary uses for RF Coaxial Cable Mount Connectors is to terminate each end of an RF test cable assembly, an RF standard cable assembly or an RF custom cable assembly during the manufacturing process. In many cases, an RF Coaxial Cable Mount Connector is used at one end of an RF “jumper” cable as employed in the design lab or within many of the larger RF subsystems (such as radar systems, satellite systems, and cellular network base stations). “Jumper” cables are used to “lift” or “jump” a signal from one part of a circuit or subsystem to another. Note that some are optimized for 50Ω RF applications, some are optimized for 75Ω applications, and some can even be used with multiple RF impedance values. RF Coaxial Cable Mount Connectors come in a multitude of standard styles and “series” (e.g., BNC, BNC-75, SMA, N, F, MCX, and MMCX) and they are used with all types of RF coaxial cables: rigid, semi-rigid, flexible, and semi-flexible. In the home, they are even used for connecting your cable TV signal to your cable set-top box, cable modem, or directly to your cable-ready TV. Attributes which are important in selecting the right RF Coaxial Cable Mount Connectorfor your application include: Series (e.g., SMA, BNC, F, UHF, N, and SMP); Gender (Male or Female); Style (e.g., Straight, Right Angle); Type (the type of RF cable for which the connector can be used – rigid, semi-rigid, flexible, and semi-flexible); Attachment Method (solder, clamp, or crimp); and, only in the case of a QPL-listed connector (i.e. meets MIL-SPEC), we list the QPL Part Number – if available – as the final key attribute.
