Gain Block

RF and Microwave Gain Blocks are versatile small signal amplifier components, each of which is typically matched to 50Ω at the input and output of the device. They provide the designer with a wide selection of easy-to-use broadband and general purpose amplifiers suitable for a variety of IF, RF, and Microwave applications. Gain Blocks are easily cascadable for small signal multi-gain-stage applications, such as A&D, RF test equipment, wireless infrastructure receiver front-ends, satellite TV receivers, and radio IF circuits. Richardson RFPD offers a vast assortment of RF Microwave Gain Blocks, including some that can be employed in circuits with maximum RF frequencies over 40 GHz. The gain of each block is typically somewhere between 7 dB and 29 dB, specified at a particular frequency within the frequency range of the device. Some Gain Blocks have a narrow frequency range and others are very much broadband devices.
